Essential oils:

  • Cedarwood essential oil is derived from the needles, leaves, bark, and berries of cedar trees. Its smell is sweet and woody. It has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal properties. It’s considered beneficial to people with eczema and acne, and may help with scalp issues and stimulate hair growth.

  • Chamomile essential oil is extracted from the chamomile plant, a low-growing perennial with daisy-like flowers. It has a sweet, herbaceous, green apple scent. It is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, and can help with skin issues like acne and rosacea. Note: People with ragweed allergies may want to avoid chamomile.

  • Clove bud essential oil is extracted from the flowers of the tropical clove plant and has a rich, warm, sweet-spicy scent. It is antibacterial so it’s good for acne-prone skin. It has been known to help with headaches, and it promotes circulation.

  • Cardamom essential oil is extracted from the seeds of the cardamom fruit and has a warm, sweet, spicy scent. It contains vitamins A, B, and C, and has infection-fighting properties that can speed up recovery time of wounds and blemishes.

Directions: Warm 3-5 drops between hands and rub gently onto face, neck, and décolletage—or wherever! Store in a cool, dark place. Use within 6-12 months. To extend your oil’s shelf life, store in the refrigerator.

Some people may have sensitivities to certain essential oils. We suggest that you test your oil on your hand or wrist before applying to your face. Citrus oils in particular can cause photosensitivity. Please use SPF.

Carrier oils are the bulk of our ingredients; they dilute the essential oils, which are potent and can cause irritation when used on their own. The carrier oils we use are certified organic and cold-pressed. They have low comedogenic numbers (meaning they are non-clogging), and each bring their own myriad benefits.

  • Apricot kernel oil comes from the dried kernel of the apricot. It is a light oil that is readily absorbed into the skin, and is deeply moisturizing, rich in fatty acids and vitamins A and E, and beneficial to both skin and hair. It can also be used for healing cuts and scrapes, and soothing dry, itchy skin. Comedogenic rating: 2

  • Grapeseed oil is very light, odorless, and rich in antioxidants and vitamin E. It absorbs easily, smooths wrinkles and fine lines, and tightens and tones the skin. It is especially good for mature, acne-prone, and oily skin. Comedogenic rating: 1

  • Jojoba is a liquid wax that is extracted from the seeds of the jojoba shrub, found in desert and semi-desert regions. It contains vitamin E and is good for all skin types, especially acne-prone and oily skin. It is moisturizing, antibacterial, and anti-oxidizing. It can help with wrinkles, scars, sunburns, collagen production, and oil control. Comedogenic rating: 2

  • Rosehip seed oil is rich in vitamins A, C, E, and fatty acids, which can decrease discoloration and stimulate collagen production. It softens and moisturizes skin, smooths wrinkles and fine lines, and can help minimize scars and prevent stretch marks. Comedogenic rating: 2
